Welcome To Cooking With the Saints!

This is dedicated to those who enjoy eating cooking , praying  and or all three.

Each Week we will  present biographical detail , prayer and  a favorite dish and recipe associated  with some of our Favorite Saints .God wants you to connect to him. To love him just as He loves you. You can cook for God. Cook a very beautiful and delicious dish and then offer it to God. Tell God, I will serve this beautiful dish to my family in your name. They will know it was a dish offered to you and made sacred for you. They will feel your sacredness in this food. The food will then be more than delicious. The food will contain your spirit and they will feel your presence as they eat each bite. They will know it was my gift to You and your personal gift to them. The dish can be something simple or complicated.

There are Several Patron Saints of cooking...........

Santa Marta - patron of cooks, she
was the sister of Mary Magdalena.
She happily cooked for Christ. She
is also patron of entertaining,

San Lorenzo- is patron of boiled
foods ( because of his martyrdom, yecch),
pasta cooks, candy makers, diets, and
graciousness.

San Pascual - is a patron of
cooks, the kitchen and
domestic animals ( and finding
lost animals). He was a lay
Franciscan who happily worked
in the kitchen.

Santa Elizabeth-patron of
bakers because she gave food,
especially bread to the poor.

Elizabeth of Thuringia aka Elisabeth of Thuringia aka Elisabeth of Hungary; for her having regularly fed the poor of her Country, she was considered the Patron[ess] Saint of food.

She is also considered the Patron[ess] Saint of the hoboes and homeless, for the same reason.
